Professor Ovnat Tamir

 

Prof. Ovnat Tamir obtained her medical degree at the University Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, with High Honors (Magna Cum Laude).

She did her residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Hadassah and Shaare Zedek Medical Centers. Her clinical fellowship in Otological Surgery was conducted at the Hopitaux de Paris, France.

After having been the Chairwoman of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, at Assuta University Hospital Ashdod, for 7 years she has decided to step down and lead the Otology/Neurotology Unit in the hospital. She continues with her robust research career which is her focal point of interest. 

 

Academic Activity

Professor. Ovnat Tamir conducts research on different otological diseases and has published tens of articles in the international literature. She has won several prizes for her publications including the prize for Best Oral Presentation in the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, Best Researcher Prize in Hadassah and many others. She serves as a reviewer for many international Otolaryngological Journals. She has been appointed as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences in the Ben Gurion University of the Negev. 

 

Membership in International Societies

 Professor. Ovnat Tamir serves as a member of many international ENT societes. She serves in the executive board of directors of the Global OHNS Initiative, which serves to promote Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery world-wide.
